Bob Tanney Reviews

Bing-a-dee-bing-a-dee-bing-a-dee-bong
For those not familiar with our Bob reviews segment it works like this.  Our Editor in Chief Bob Tanney reviews recently released albums, movies or tv shows.  That’s it, what did you think it was? Grow up!
Now as you’re gathering your tits and balls after having them blown off in amazement, I’ll yield the floor to the man himself.
Without further ado, Bob Tanney.

Sup?  Our inaugural edition of Bob Reviews will be focused on music since it’s my first love.
Album: Myopic Bubble by Moka Only
Hip Hop / Rap
Release date Oct. 1st, 2018 ℗ 2018 Dead Wrestlers Music

Today we are reviewing the just released Moka Only studio album called ‘Myopic Bubble’, the 10 track EP is available on Apple Music, iTunes, Spotify and anywhere else you get music from these days.  Fans of Moka Only know that the Vancouver Canada based MC/Producer is as prolific as they come.  He releases an album as frequently as your average guy gets a haircut and his latest effort does not disappoint.  The beats on this album are melodic, hypnotic, and other dope words that rhyme with that.  Every beat on this album lend to a head-nodding, chilled-the-fuck-out kinda time, reminiscent of classic De La Soul or Tribe Called Quest sounds.  Perfect mood music for blazing jay with a couple of buddies and recalling on where you were and who you were with the first time you heard 3 Feet High and Rising or Midnight Marauders.  The easy listening aspect to this album also make it perfect background music if you need to crack a textbook and cram for your upcoming mid-term.  That universal appeal is what makes this album great, you can bump it for the ambiance while getting your mind chill, or you can geek out on Moka Only’s flow, rhyme-schemes and many witticisms.  If you’re a true (hip hop) head then this album will keep you on the rewind button giggling your ass off.

There really aren’t any skips on this joint but my two favorite gems on this EP are track #7 “If I Can, You Can” and the last track on the album “Wild Porcupine”. In “If I Can, You Can” Moka flexes verbal skill with the usual laidback B-Boy flow his fans are used to and gives you peek in to his daily routine while encouraging listeners to keep on your path and keep evolving as you go.  “Wild Porcupine” is one of those feel good joints that you immediately add to your summer mix playlist and call up your best friends to pick up some Malibu Rum or Bacardi Lemon or some shit you haven’t drank in a long ass time and get over to your place for a BBQ so you can bump this track at it and forget about life’s everyday annoyances and just think about good times, good people and good music.

"If I Can, You Can"

Overall I am really feeling this album and have included some links below so you can check it out too and see if you like it as much as I do.  I give it 6 Shawn Michaels and 2 Marty Jannettys.
